After the service, we moved to the hall for further fellowship over some multi-ethnic dishes.
Children's Sunday - 26th July 2015
Our Annual Children's Sunday was well attended by family, friends and relatives. The children did well with their songs, memory verses and drama. The theme this year was: ‘Love’, 'Love' led Jesus to feed thousands miraculously and abundantly. ‘Love’ also led Jesus to help the disciples reach land immediately. As Christians, 'Love should move us into action, into helping others'.
After the service, everyone joined together for food fellowship in the hall.
50th Anniversary, 1st woman ordained to ministry in PCANZ
On 10th May 2015, we celebrated the historical event happened almost 50 years ago, when The Very Rev Margaret Martin became the first woman, to be ordained to the ministry of Word and Sacrament in the Presbyterian Church of Aotearoa NZ. We marked her 50th anniversary at our 10am service, 10th May 2015, which happened to be our Mother's Day celebration as well. In preparation for this event, a small booklet was put together, which revealed her journey in ministry. To find out more information about her journey, click here for a pdf copy of the booklet.

Children's Sunday 2014: 26th October
The significance of our children in our ministry was marked by having our young people minister to us in drama and songs. The preschoolers' items was cute and unforgettable, the intermediate class had confidence shine through their item and our youth closed it off with the main item, a beautiful drama about The Great commandment. Go to the gallery page to check out some photos, or to the sermon page for a copy of the drama script.
On 12th October, friends and families joined us as we confirm and enter two of our members into full-membership of the Church, through public profession of faith. This was a beautiful service and was enjoyed by all. We look forward, with God's guidance, to many more confirmations in the future. Click here for some of the pics.
Ethnic diversity Sunday:
On 28th September, we celebrated our diversity as we acknowledge the different Ethnic groups within us. This special worship service was very well attended and our tenant, the Stream of Life Church, joined us in this worship. Our worship team for the day was made up of 3 different ethnic groups. And we had all known ethnic groups, within our Church family, took part in the service, as they contributed in prayers, sharing and Bible reading. We had a great time together and hope to repeat it again next year, maybe twice a year. Click here for some of the photos from the service.
Good Friday Walk:
The Mt Albert Combined Churches again joined together in the Good Friday Walk. Hundreds of people gathered on a wet and windy Good Friday to take part in the Good Friday Walk. At 10AM they all gathered at the St Mary’s Catholic Church for their first station message on The Last Supper, before they came to the 2nd station, our Church at 10.30. Our Youth put together a Youth version drama of the Gethsemane story as part of our contribution. Our Church was packed, the foyer was packed and some had to stay outside as they couldn't fit into the Church. Christianity is still alive and well received in Mt Albert, and the locals continue to value the Good Friday tradition.
The Good Friday Walk then, moved on to the 3rd station, Mt Albert Methodist Church at 11am where they received message on the Trial of Jesus. At 11.30am, they were at the 4th station, St Lukes Anglican Church for the 'Crucifixion of Jesus' message. By 12noon, they were at the Mt Albert Baptist Church for station 5: 'Death an Burial of Jesus'. Thanks to the Salvation Army, refreshment was provided and then served for everyone to sit down and enjoy. We look forward to another display of Christian unity in Mt Albert next year.
World Day of Prayer:
In 2014, we joined with other Christian Churches in the Owairaka region in the Annual World Day of Prayer, hosted by Hosanna World Harvest Church, Owairaka. The service was well attended by both youth and old, and well supported by Christian Churches in the region. Our Youth contributed an action song, which encouraged participation, in worship in the house of God. We look forward to the same event next year.
